In addition, Xiaomi has innovated a completely new patented hinge, consisting of 198 components, which takes up 17% less internal space. This upgraded hinge features a 3-element construction along with 14 micro-hinges that securely enclose the main folding screen, contributing to increased durability.
In addition, a rotating mechanism made of ceramic carbon steel has been integrated into the hinge. A notable feature of this new hinge design is support for a floating opening angle of 45° to 135°, allowing users to position the phone like a mini laptop.
