Dream on these African islands
If you’re planning a vacation to Africa, the big five—the African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, lion, and rhino—should be on your list. But if you’re looking for a more relaxing vacation, you’ll want to check out our list of African islands. White sand beaches, beautiful coral reefs and crystal clear waters… Dream on these African islands!
1. Seychelles
The Seychelles is quite a well-known holiday island. Since there are 115 islands in total, there is much more to discover than just the main island of Mahé. For unknown beaches and silence, go to La Digue. To enjoy the most beautiful nature, you should visit Praslin (but it will be more crowded with tourists).
2.Madagascar
Madagascar is the most colorful island where you still have a lot of nature and beaches to discover. Since there is not a large flow of tourists here, you can have fun among the locals. Join a local fishing charter, go diving in Nosy Be or Mahambo (in the north) or see the eccentric baobab trees with your own eyes. Who knows, you might even spot a lemur!
Zanzibar, the name alone sounds like a wonderful faraway destination. This island has the best restaurant in Tanzania, Africa and perhaps the entire world. It is in the water. In the morning you can easily walk there, and when it floods you will be taken by boat. This restaurant has 45 tables and is the pinnacle of romantic dining. It is also recommended to visit the beach near the restaurant after your meal.
4. Sao Tome and Principe
Sao Tome and Principe is a nation and belongs to the Comoros. The main island is Sao Tome. You may think that a main island has already been discovered by tourists… Well no! This island is not yet full. You can safely lie on the beach without meeting anyone.
5. sal
Sal is a beautiful African island and is known for its great beaches. But it is also nice to be in the small towns of the island, with beautifully colored houses and cozy restaurants. This island is very touristy. Many people who visit Cape Verde go to this island. But that shouldn’t spoil the fun: lots of sun, sea and beaches!
