It seems that male celebrities are not only jumping on the nail polish trend, but actually getting so involved that they are starting their own nail polish brands. We were recently writing about Harry Styles starting his beauty brand that included 4 pearlescent nail polishes, and now Machine Gun Kelly is quick to follow. But Machine Gun Kelly’s nail polish collection is definitely nothing like Harry’s.
Machine Gun Kelly is known for his amazing nails, we have seen him do many memorable looks for his concerts, special events, etc. Whether your nails are short and black, bright red, with intricate designs or long, pointy and pink. – is her own way of expressing her mood and thoughts, and she hopes that people who buy her nail polish will use it in the same way.
Machine Gun Kelly’s nail polish brand is called UN/DN LAQR and it features 10 nail polishes that you can wear all year long. The colors here are much more punchy and the names are fun too. There is a black nail polish called “Depressionist” which is intended as a reference to the time when Colson was still in school and would color his nails with a black marker.
The orange nail polish is titled “25 to Life” (Megan Fox named it), the pink is called “Slippery When Wet”, the green is “Mary Jane”, the white is called “Blank Canvas” and the off-white one – “Writer’s Block”. You understand the essence. The names are fun. You can buy these nail polishes separately or in small collections of three that have their own titles. For example, a collection of three splatter nail polishes is called “Lucid Dream Look.” And their brand motto is “don’t huff the paint.”
Machine Gun Kelly says that she wants to make these nail polishes accessible to everyone and make them a means for people to express themselves. It’s not about making it perfect, it’s about using your nails as a canvas and unleashing your creativity.
She also says that she hopes nail polish can help introverts (for whom she writes her music). Machine Gun Kelly is quite shy when it comes to starting conversations, and he found that getting his nails done was usually a good conversation starter. Even if you’re just having coffee, the barista might comment on your nails and voila, that’s a nice little conversation starter.
