When Jasmine Dauphine graduated from high school in Washington, D.C. Last June, there was one time when he unfortunately never got to take advantage of his graduation party. When the coronavirus pandemic led to lockdowns and lockdowns, Jasmine’s prom was canceled and all her prom hopes and dreams could have been wasted. But Jasmine had a plan to make the best of an unfortunate situation. This is how she later ended up manifesting a professional, couture photo shoot done by a stranger, giving her an amazing alternative prom experience that she will definitely never forget.
Once Jasmine realized that her senior prom had been cancelled, a major milestone she had been planning since her junior year, she decided to try and make the most of it and still dress up to celebrate. She donned her prom gown and found a great backdrop for some run-of-the-mill smartphone photography: the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. “I love art, so I wanted my graduation photos to look like a piece of art,” Jasmine said.
“When my prom was cancelled, I fully understood why and it didn’t bother me, but I was disappointed because I had been planning the prom for a long time,” Jasmine explained. But she was determined to find a way to commemorate her graduation party.
“Jasmine is a big fan of Zendaya and Sza, and chose a look inspired by one of their major red carpet appearances.”
Jasmine’s sister agreed to accompany her to the historical sites to take photos of her prom look. “I chose this place because I wanted something classy and artsy to look at and with the orange dress, I knew I could look however I wanted,” Jasmine said. When they were about to leave, they caught the attention of wedding photographer Sara Isabella Ortiz.
