OEM rushes to fix green line issue on screen
It seems that social networks and consumer forums are full of cases of consumers complaining that green lines appear on the screen of their smartphones after a few months of use.

Interestingly, this is also a type of panel that is often marketed as being of superior quality.
But now sporting a horizontal or vertical green line appearance on the screen permanently until it is turned on.
Apart from this, normal operations will not be affected, reportedly.
After these cases occurred, some brands like OnePlus and Oppo proactively offered and resolved the issue for users who complained.
In addition, the problem of the appearance of the green line has been reported on phones of major brands and in all price ranges.
The problem started after a software update was removed or when the phone overheated, according to evidence documented by users on social media.
OnePlus’ Take On Green Line Problem
In the case of the OnePlus smartphone, several users have encountered an appearance of green lights on their screens.
Recently, the smartphone maker has come up with a new initiative specifically aimed at tackling the issue of screens exhibiting a green tint, to reassure its customer base.
While confirming the news, a OnePlus representative said that all affected phones will now be covered by a lifetime screen warranty.
On top of that, certain users may also qualify for discounts on upgrades.
In general, any OnePlus device affected by the green tint screen issue will now be eligible for a free screen replacement.
The OnePlus spokesperson said: “We realize that this issue has caused a lot of inconvenience to affected users and we apologize for it. In keeping with our unwavering commitment, we encourage users to visit the nearest OnePlus service center for device diagnosis, and we will provide free screen replacement for all devices affected by the situation. On select OnePlus 8 and 9 series devices, we also offer a coupon that will provide the user with a fair percentage of the device’s value to upgrade to a new OnePlus device.”
What about Motorola and other OEMs?
Just like OnePlus, Motorola phones are also affected by the Green Line display issue.
In particular, this problem does not affect the vital operation of the device.
However, it is quite annoying to see a strange color bar on your smartphone while playing games or watching videos, or during any other activity.
For those who don’t know, replacing the screen is the only way to fix the green line issue on your Motorola phone screen.
Unfortunately, there is nothing the end user can do in the software that might fix the problem.
In the event that your Motorola phone is under warranty and shows no signs of external damage or water damage, the green line issue will most likely be considered a hardware defect and will be fixed free of charge under warranty.
Many OEMs, including Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus, have advised their service centers and support channels to help users affected by green line issues and repair devices for free even out of warranty period.
Witnessing this, Motorola users are also hoping that the company will offer various replacement deals to the users who are facing the green lines issue.
Let us see how various OEMs will deal with this problem as now many users are facing this problem.
