We all spend too much time online looking at other people’s photos and videos and comparing ourselves to them. That’s no way to live. Comparison is the thief of joy. But since there is no way for you to stop doing it, we suggest that you at least be picky about the type of content you consume. Try to follow more online accounts that create something beautiful and something that lifts you up, inspires you or gives you good vibes and good ideas. And when it comes to Instagram, we honestly consider food Instagram to be a kind of art too. And today we want to share with you Grace’s creations. She goes by @petrichoro on Instagram and is a self-taught baker who creates really beautiful and very cute things.
One of the things that surprised us the most was this pond cake made up of layers of mousse and gelatin. It is absolutely stunning and actually looks like a pond suspended in mid-air. The details, the colors, those flowers and koi fish. It’s almost too beautiful to eat, but you know you’ll still get a bite after taking millions of photos, of course. In fact, Grace made it for Father’s Day and all we can say is that her dad is a very lucky man.
This woman is so talented that she can turn food into the most adorable little creatures. Here he managed to make the cutest pandas just with rice and a little seaweed. Creating a burger that looks like Totoro is clearly not a problem for her either.
This time she baked a cake that looked exactly like Eeyore just because it was always her favorite Winnie The Pooh character, from early childhood, and she had a sneaking suspicion that it might look really cool in cake form. And boy was he right. Look at that cake, the color, the detail, the little tail with a bow!
Even a simple fried egg can become a work of art and an adorable dish if you put your mind to it. Just a few minutes to cut out the seaweed shapes and suddenly your breakfast transforms into Pikachu. Who wouldn’t like to start a day like this?
This bowl is too precious for words. I mean, it looks like a teddy bear bathing in soup, but you can also tell it’s absolutely delicious. It was actually a tonkatsu curry and Grace spent 20 minutes trying to get those eyes out of the nori and still thinks they aren’t perfectly the same. That’s how you know he’s a perfectionist. He likes to joke that he does this because he has too much free time, but we’re pretty sure it’s because he has a gift and needs to share it with people.
Donuts actually made from donut holes? How fucking cool is that? It seems so much more exciting and new and you actually get a creative way to use those wholes if you’re actually making donuts regularly. But we’re pretty sure that if you put regular donuts on the side, these people will still opt for the ones made with donut holes.
Grace is also great at making all kinds of macaroni. And we’re not just talking about her making regular macarons, which is hard enough, no, she can make cute macarons shaped like anime characters.
Just look at the variety of shapes, colors and characters he created here. All these are macaroni. That takes time, effort, skill and a lot of patience.
And these adorable things are choux au craquelin, with brown sugar boba filling. We’re pretty sure you’ve never had anything like this, but from the looks alone we’ll say it’s probably divine.
