The Film Locations of La Casa de Papel
Season 4 of Netflix’s Money Heist, aka Money Heist, has been on TV for a few weeks now. In this blog we have listed the most beautiful filming locations from the previous seasons!
Royal mint
Do you remember where seasons 1 and 2 were filmed? This was mainly at the Real Casa de la Moneda in Madrid. The building is not a real bank. This building is used by the CSIC, the Higher Council for Scientific Research of Spain, the largest scientific research institute in Europe. You may not enter the building, but it’s still nice to walk around to see where the series was filmed.
Do you remember the big zeppelin that dropped a lot of money all over the city? This was filmed over the Plaza del Callao in Madrid. It is one of the most central squares in Madrid. It is a very lively square with many shops, giant screens and the iconic Callao cinemas. This square is a smaller version of Times Square.
What are the four large buildings that the zeppelin flies through? Known as Las Cuatro Torres, these tall skyscrapers are located in the business area of Madrid.
The Banco de España building is actually the building of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The building has a nice appearance that made it seem quite believable that it was the Spanish Bank. However, the real Spanish bank is much more elegant as you can see in the image below. The interior that appears in the series is also not the same as in the real Spanish Bank. The makers tried to copy the interior, but permission was refused for security reasons. That makes sense when you consider that after watching La Casa de Papel everyone knows how to get to the safe.
The monastery where Berlin resides is 87 miles from the center of the city of Madrid in the province of Segovia. The Hoces del Duratón Natural Park is a beautiful place that is very popular among city dwellers who want to spend a day in nature. From the San Frutos viewpoint there is a spectacular view of the Duratón River and the building that most attracted attention: the San Frutos hermitage.
The third season begins with scenes on an island paradise. Tokyo and Rio hide here. It is actually an archipelago (archipelago) of almost 400 islands scattered along the Caribbean coast of Panama. This destination has become even more famous after the third season.
Escape Room Money Heist
Did you know that La Casa de Papel has its own escape room in Madrid? An escape room is a game where you are locked in a room with a group. The goal is to find a way out through puzzles and riddles. The Money Heist escape room is next to the actual Royal Mint (the location where seasons 1 and 2 were filmed) which makes it even more fun!
When you enter the escape room, you even get a red jumpsuit, just like in the series. Singing ‘Bella Ciao’ is also part of it. The rest you have to experience yourself, because we prefer not to reveal the rest, but we believe that it will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience.
