Cape Town is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in Africa. With a mix of nature and nightlife, there is plenty to see or do. Relax on the beaches, dine on fine dining in elegant restaurants, and hike (or take the cable car) up Table Mountain. Don’t miss the largest city in the county, Johannesburg, particularly the Botanic Gardens, the zoo and the UNESCO World Heritage area, Cradle of Humankind.
2. Egypt
Famous for the Nile River and the pyramids, Egypt is full of history and cultural activities. Home to palaces, mosques and intriguing little avenues, the capital of Egypt will leave you in awe. Take in views of the impressive Giza pyramids and find out all about ancient Egypt at the Egyptian Museum in the heart of the city. If history isn’t your thing, Egypt is also known for its pristine beaches and some of the best diving sites in the world.
3. Tanzania
This stunning country couldn’t be more perfect for nature lovers! The highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, is located in Tanzania, as well as the Serengeti National Park, where you can see elephants, lions and rhinos. Even better, Tanzania also has the tropical island of Zanzibar, where you can swim with whale sharks. How cool is that!
4. Morocco
With mountains, desert and lively cities, Morocco has everything you could want. Hike the High Atlas Mountains, take a camel safari through the desert, and haggle in the markets of Marrakech. Enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine and be sure to save room in your suitcase for a tagine!
5. Kenya
With over 45 national parks and reserves, there is plenty to see and do in Kenya. One of the most amazing things to witness is the annual wildebeest migration with over a million wildebeest migrating at a time.
