The moment we’ve all been waiting for for so long has finally arrived: the official Friends cookbook is now available! Well, it’s coming out on September 22, which is right around the corner, so we can start celebrating now. We’ve seen our fair share of cookbooks inspired by the Friends TV show, but none of them were official. So what is this cookbook like and what makes it so special? Let’s take a closer look.
Created by Amanda Yee, a professional chef and a huge fan of the show, the Friends cookbook isn’t just a random collection of sitcom-inspired recipes. The cookbook celebrates some of the show’s most significant moments and pays tribute to the culinary prowess of all its members. Whether it’s Ross’s amazing sandwich, Chandler’s chewy milk, or Rachel’s delicious pound cake, you’ll find all that and more in the book.
Some of the show’s most iconic moments revolve around food, so it’s no surprise that the cookbook has plenty of recipes to try. There are more than 80 recipes in the book that suit all types of chefs, from beginners to experts and true professionals. One thing we know for sure: it’s a plethora of flavors that will definitely make your dining experience more fun than ever.
Do you remember Janice and Chandler? He didn’t really like the girl, but her affection for him melted the ice and some magic happened in the end. To celebrate their relationship, Janice made some amazing fluffy pancakes, and this is the recipe you have to try! It contains maple syrup and berries, so be careful not to get addicted to this deliciousness.
If you’re planning to throw a party (after the quarantine is over, of course), then this book is a real lifesaver and will definitely help you create a memorable menu. It not only contains snacks and all kinds of drinks, but also main dishes and appetizers. And don’t forget the desserts! Phoebe’s French Chocolate Chip Cookies are also in the book.
Remember Phoebe’s iconic line “He’s her lobster!” from the episode The One with the Prom Video? It’s one of the most touching episodes of the show and reveals how much Ross and Rachel care about each other. In the episode, Monica finds an old video about the school prom when Rachel was stood up by her date and Ross decided to throw a surprise and come get her instead of that guy. Unfortunately, his date showed up at the last minute, leaving Ross heartbroken. Rachel had no idea about this, so when she saw the video she kissed him passionately.
“Joey’s special. Two Pizzas” should definitely be in your culinary arsenal for those days when you want to impress everyone with something absolutely delicious. It’s not revealed in the show what kinds of pizzas Joey eats, so Amanda Yee fantasized a bit and came up with two delicious recipes of her own: Salami, Ham and Sausage Pizza and Garlic Clams Pizza.
