If you love aesthetically pleasing food, this Instagram account is definitely for you. Loria Stern is a baker who makes the most beautiful and absolutely amazing looking cookies, biscuits, cakes and other baked goods. But her secret isn’t in the food coloring or pretty icing, instead she uses real edible flowers and herbs to decorate her baked creations. And while you may have seen people finish their decorations with fresh edible flowers, that’s not what Loria does. She bakes the flowers and herbs into her products. The result is absolutely stunning. Loria really likes to experiment with plants and it’s a trial and error process every time, but when things go right, they look like an edible botanical illustration from Victorian times. If cottage-core is your thing, if you like pressed flowers and delicious baked goods and desserts, we recommend you follow Loria Stern on Instagram.
1. Floral Shortbread Cookies that are not only beautiful but also delicious. Loria makes them and ships them to you in custom packaging so they can arrive safely at your doorstep.
2. These are raspberry, rose and geranium cookies and if you don’t think they are a perfect gift for a loved one on a special occasion, anniversary or birthday, think again.
3. These are lovely oregano pressed square cookies and they look very intriguing. Not the usual cookie flavor, but that makes it even better, doesn’t it?
4. Not only do they look absolutely stunning, but even the frosting is colored using natural ingredients. The yellow is made with golden turmeric and the pink is raspberry pink.
5. A little idea of how Loria makes these cookies. The flowers are placed before being baked and then simply baked with the biscuit. Also, apparently, this particular daisy-like flower has anti-inflammatory properties, so it’s good for you, too.
6. Pressed flowers are clearly the best way to decorate cakes. Once you see them, nothing else can compare to how lovely it looks. And all these pretty edible flowers were hand picked and pressed by Loria.
7. It’s not just about desserts here, Loria makes other baked goods too. Here’s a quiche decorated with tendrils of peas. Who would have thought that you could do that and get such a wonderful result?
8. Matcha Green Wheatgrass Infused Gluten-Free Pressed Flower Cookies Anyone? It sounds very healthy but it looks incredibly delicious at the same time. It is a miracle.
9. Loria captioned this with “Romantic Victorian Gothic Macaroons Baked with Edible Flowers + Black Cream Filling.” Couldn’t make it sound better if you tried.
10. Here’s a three-tier cake made with fresh raspberries, topped with Swiss meringue, and decorated with pressed flowers that Loria picked from her garden and pressed between the pages of a book for a few weeks.
11. Patch Citrine Pie, perfect for summer. It’s light, citrusy, and looks like the most delicious summer dessert you’ve ever seen. What’s not to like?
12. Ok, these are the last cakes we promise. We just can’t get enough of these. They are so incredibly precious. Those pressed flowers really make everything look Victorian in the best possible way.
