1. Burley Manor
Located in the center of Burley, one of the most picturesque villages in the New Forest, Burley Manor bills itself as a restaurant with rooms. However, it does have the facilities you’d expect to find in a luxury hotel, including a lovely outdoor pool. The historic manor house is Grade II listed and dates back to 1852. Many of the original architectural details have been retained. There is an impressive fireplace in the hallway and a stylish lounge and bar. Burley Manor welcomes adults and children 13 and over for stays, while lunch in the dining room is open to all.
You can often see wild ponies in the Burley village.

2. Careys Manor Hotel
If you love pampering and good food, Careys Manor is a great choice for a stay in the New Forest. Built in 1888, Careys Manor is a charming 4-star New Forest hotel. There is a relaxing Thai-inspired wellness area, SenSpa with 19 treatment rooms, a 14m ozone pool, herbal sauna, crystal steam room, tepidarium and laconicum. Careys Manor has partnered with Spring Green London to offer healthy dining throughout the day at the Cambium restaurant. Guests can also pre-book a picnic or have afternoon tea in the gardens or lounge.
Some of the stately rooms could use an update, so request a recently renovated one when booking. Free parking is available for hotel guests.

3. Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa
This award winning five star Hampshire hotel is set in 130 acres on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Chewton Glen is known for its 14 luxurious treehouse suites, suspended 35 feet above the ground. The building dates from the early 18th century and has 72 rooms and suites, some with private Jacuzzi. The Chewton Glen spa was the first of its kind when it opened in 1990. There is a 17-metre pool, steam room, hydrotherapy pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, 12 treatment rooms, swim-up bar, dance studio and air-conditioned gym. Within the grounds, you’ll also find a nine-hole golf course and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. The walled orchards provide fresh produce for the two restaurants: The Dining Room and The Kitchen. There is also a cooking school located inside The Kitchen.

4. Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa
On the edge of the New Forest in Christchurch, this Dorset hotel has stunning views of the coastline. Christchurch Harbor Hotel is housed in a carefully restored Georgian manor house dating from the 1830s. There are 67 rooms, many of which face the harbor and Hengistbury Head. They are equipped with White Company toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary gin and sherry, free Wi-Fi and 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Guests also receive free access to HarSPA. In this luxury spa you will find a heated pool, steam bath, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, salt room and a fully equipped gym. There are also ESPA treatments.
Both restaurants have fantastic sea views. The Jetty is a 2 AA rosette restaurant, located right on the water’s edge. The Upper Deck is good for casual dining, though service can be a bit slow at times.

5. Lime Wood
This manor house hotel feels like a little slice of London in Hampshire. Located 1.5 miles from the town of Lyndhurst, this beautiful building is surrounded by walking paths in the New Forest. There’s an atmosphere of casual luxury at Lime Wood Hotel, from the design by Charles Morris and Ben Pentreath, to the interiors by David Collins and Martin Brudnizki. The contemporary rooftop gym and Herb House Spa are big draws. Spread over 3 floors, it features an indoor spa pool, outdoor hot pool, mud house, sauna and 10 treatment rooms using Bamford organic products.
Try delicious Italian food in the charming restaurant, like we did for a birthday lunch, or in the patio bar. Walk six miles to its sister property, The Pig.

6. New Park Manor Hotel
The New Park Manor Hotel, a former royal hunting lodge dating back to the 17th century, is located in the village of Brockenhurst. Originally the home of Sir George Cary, the house was later occupied by King Charles II’s mistress, Nell Gwynn. These days, this dog-friendly hotel is a great mix of old and new. Original features such as oak paneling and log fires are enhanced by cozy velvet armchairs. New Park Hotel The spa has a 16 m pool with UV filter, outdoor hot tub, hydrotherapy pool and spa, sauna, sanarium, sensation shower, thermal rooms, relaxation area and spa cafeteria. Try an Elemis spa treatment, like a Garden of England Rose Restoration Massage.
Dine in the light and airy Stag restaurant or enjoy a Beatrice Potter themed afternoon tea on the terrace or in one of the comfortable lounges.

7. Rhinefield House Hotel
Arriving at this New Forest country hotel, you will be wowed by the Gothic and Tudor architecture. Set in 40 acres of parkland, Rhinefield House Hotel is the only AA Red 4 Star hotel in the New Forest. The Armada restaurant has impressive wood paneling and is an ideal place to celebrate a special occasion. We had a lovely birthday meal here. The adjacent private dining room is intricately decorated inspired by the Alhambra in Andalusia, Spain. The airy lounge bar would benefit from a style refresh, but there’s plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the ornate fountains. Rhinefield House’s health suite includes a Technogym, two treatment rooms, sauna and steam room, a 9m indoor splash pool and a separate outdoor pool.

8. The Mill at Gordleton
This luxury Lymington inn will delight you with its lush riverside setting and home-cooked food. Food portions at The Mill at Gordleton are large, so bring your appetite! Housed in an old mill in the village of Gordleton, this cozy New Forest pub has 12 rooms and suites. All have a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. Hotel guests will also enjoy complimentary shortbread, water and tea. There’s a quirky art trail on the 2.5-acre grounds and a koi pond in an old Victorian swimming pool.

9. The Montagu Arms Hotel
A charming New Forest country house with an award-winning restaurant, The Terrace. Boasting 3 AA rosettes, the Montagu Arms Hotel serves organic produce sourced from the restaurant’s own orchard. Set in a beautiful setting close to the Beaulieu River and the National Motor Museum, this New Forest hotel boasts cozy log fires. Some of the elegant rooms have four-poster beds and wood paneling. Monty’s Inn is a popular Beaulieu village pub serving farmhouse lunches and homemade Scotch eggs. There are 22 rooms and suites in the main house and two luxury maisonette suites in an 18th century barn.
The decor is fairly traditional, but all the mod-cons are included, including The White Company toiletries and fluffy bathrobes.

10. The Pig
The famous Pig hotel group has gone from strength to strength. This is the original Pig, located in an old hunting lodge on the outskirts of Brockenhurst.
Stroll through the walled garden to the Potting Shed and Shepherd’s Hut for a spa treatment using Bamford or Oskia products.
There is a beautiful conservatory restaurant serving a 25 mile menu. All items on that menu are made within a 25 mile radius of The Pig. The Wood-Oven Terrace specializes in smoked flatbreads and is a great place to dine on a sunny day.
